At a very young age JVW Founder, Janine van Wyk fell in love with football, and throughout her professional playing career always had a dream to provide a platform for girls to reach their goals and aspirations. With this came the Launch of the JVW Girls Football Development Programme in 2012

The core principle of the dream was to create opportunities for girls of all ages to play in a comfortable and gender catered environment. The holistic approach would provide a professional, structured and discipline-rich academy where JVW would groom players of an International standard.

JVW has centered all coaching and management around women. A truly unique structure in South Africa. The training sessions are planned and prepared timeously, ensuring that our players are continuously learning.

Playing for JVW FC, Girls have the opportunity to focus on their sport in a program where they are pushed to their limits. Our aim is to ultimately produce top performing athletes.

Blue Diamonds – GWDL U14 Team

We enter the ‘team building’ years, as players start reaching their technical and physical maturity levels, where they also need to have a better understanding of the game as well as their abilities. The U14 Team was formed in 2016 and U12 Team in 2018 with the vision to develop younger, talented girls into future JVW stars. Girls now have the opportunity to play in an All-Girls club together with like-minded players and are able to use the platform to flourish in the sport.

Blue Diamonds – Development Team

JVW offers a Beginners group for girls between the ages of 8 and 14. These sessions are run every Tuesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm, and cater for players who would like to try out in the sport without any pressure to perform. Girls are able to come down, get involved and learn the basics to improve their coordination and ball control.

Nicola Schulz was appointed the Coach of the Development team in 2019 after suffering an ACL-injury at the beginning of the 2019 Sasol league Season. Nicola is able to share her experience with her players, while teaching the basics of football to girls eager to play the sport.
