Jessica Wade’s football journey is nothing short of inspirational. She first joined JVW at the age of 11, progressing through the youth structures with the U14 and U16 teams, whilst also being part of the JESS programme (previously BSS). By just 16 years old, Jessica was already making her mark in the First Team, competing in the Sasol League.
In addition to her club journey, Jessica competed in the JVW Schools League, where she was a standout player for Waterstone College. Her performances earned her the title of Player of the Year in 2019, along with a place in the prestigious JVW Schools Best XI.
She was an integral member of the Blue Diamonds side that lifted the 2019 Sasol League National Championship and secured a historic spot in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
On the international stage, Jessica proudly captained South Africa’s U17 Women’s National Team, representing the country at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in 2018. She went on to represent South Africa at U20 level as well, further showcasing her talent and leadership qualities.
Jessica is an extraordinary player whose dedication sets her apart, every spare moment she has is spent training and working on herself, constantly striving for improvement and growth.
Her football journey later took her to the University of Johannesburg and abroad to Israel, where she gained invaluable experience and continued to develop as both a player and a leader.
In 2024, Jessica made her return to JVW, back to her roots, back to the Blue Diamonds. Today, she features regularly in the Hollywoodbets Super League, wearing the badge where her story first began.
