ROBYN MOODALY RE-SIGNS WITH JVW

It’s been 5 years since Robyn Moodaly left JVW, after receiving a bursary in the States at AIB in Iowa, where she was able to concentrate on her studies and play college football. Following her return to South Africa, Moodaly, who has 14 caps for Banyana Banyana has rejoined the bedfordview based club for the 2019 Sasol League Season. Moodaly who joins the likes of Nompumelelo Nyandeni, Amanda Dlamini, Gabriela Salgado, Alochia Thobokela and Mamello Makhabane in the middle of the park will add a little more spice to the team, as they look for a qualification spot at this years Sasol League Playoffs.

“Robyn is the perfect balance of youth and experience. A young dynamic player who has already made a name for herself locally and abroad, we couldn’t be happier to welcome her to the JVW Family.”

Head Coach Ciara Picco on Moodaly’s signing.

On completion of her signing, we sat down with Robyn to ask a few questions…

Q: How does it feel to be back playing on African soil?
RM: It’s feels great to be back home. The style of football is so different in South Africa and I love how I can express myself a lot more. I am so excited to be playing with my former teammates and club again , it feels like I never left.

Q: What are you looking to accomplish with your JVW this season?
RM: I’m excited to share my experiences and creativity with the team and ensuring that I do what’s expected of me, so that as a club we finish top of the log at the end of the season.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being at JVW?
RM: What I enjoy the most is playing and training amongst past and current national team players, which ensures that training is always at a high intensity and a very competitive level. Also the unity and belief between the players is what distinguishes JVW as a club.

Q: What have you brought back from the U.S that has positively impacted your game?
RM: Being back home I get to share all my knowledge and experiences gained from being in America. American football is a completely different ball game compared to South Africa, but the two combined could be very affective and could possibly benefit JVW as a team.

Q: Describe JVW in 3 Words
RM: Ambitious, Opportunistic, Professional

“The mood on the training field is one of driven intent and cohesion. As a team we are aware of the enormity of the season ahead and what is at stake, not only in the league but also with players preparing to compete at the FIFAWWC. Now, only the very best will do.”
