JVW Football Club (JVW FC) are proud to announce the signing of a partnership with South African sports betting giant, Hollywoodbets, ahead of the 2021 SAFA National Women’s League. Hollywoodbets have secured the sponsorship of the front and back of the jersey for the First Team, as the team prepares to make their National Women’s League debut.
With record-breaking viewership figures from the 2019 Women’s World Cup, which surpassed over one billion viewers, Women’s football has taken a turn to becoming the fastest growing sport in the world. The COVID-19 pandemic has seen many sporting events and competitions put on hold or cancelled for the last year. It has been a huge setback for all female footballers in the country, after the future of the women’s game seemed bright and on track, before the pandemic.
Commenting on this announcement, JVW FC Founder and Banyana Banyana Captain, Janine van Wyk said: “It is truly remarkable to see that companies, like Hollywoodbets, are still highly interested in supporting and uplifting the women’s game by securing sponsorship deals like this. I am thrilled to have JVW represent companies that are passionate to contribute to the growth of not only the women’s game but also our football club. I am looking forward to a great partnership.”
“The growth and development of soccer in South Africa has always been a primary focus for Hollywoodbets. This partnership made sense from the start, by pairing with a club whose slogan is ‘Where stars are born’. It has always been our mission to invest in our future stars in our communities. Women’s football has grown extensively over the past few years, and we are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the recognition and empowerment of females in sport. With this new relationship, we hope that our partnership can create even more stars and future growth for JVW FC,” said Sandisiwe Bhengu, Hollywoodbets Operations Executive.
