DIAMONDS WIN ELFA WINTER LEAGUE

The JVW Diamonds team sailed through the 2022 ELFA Winter League, and were crowned Winners this week.

Under the guidance of First team Captain Nompumelelo Nyandeni, (a Banyana Banyana Midfielder who has 149 National Team appearances to her name) the JVW players have been able to learn from her knowledge and wealth of experience in the game. The Diamonds have shown great tenacity and growth during the season. Recording 10 wins and 1 draw from 12 matches, proved how well the team is progressing. The unfortunate loss came because of miscommunication of a request for postponement, with the points being awarded to the opposition. This result did not deter the team who continued to give their all to capitalise on the remaining available points.

“While we celebrate the league win, which of course is another accolade to add to our trophy cabinet, we still continue to put emphasis on the development stages of the players career. We see quite a number of players who want to fast track their development, especially with the illustrious leagues in sight, such as the Sasol League and Hollywoodbets Super League, which tend to grasp their attention. At JVW, we have put the structure in place for players to progress through our levels which will hopefully see them feature for the Blue Diamond First team.” – JVW Co-Founder Lauren Duncan

“Well done to Coach Mpumi and the Diamonds team for their achievement, their diligence and commitment to the club and we wish them well for their upcoming Summer League.” added Laurenwa
