The final list of nominees ahead of the 12th edition of the Gsport awards were announced a week ago with two of JVW’s representatives amongst the finalists. Project Manager, Lauren Duncan was announced as a finalist for Woman of the year, whilst First Team and Banyana Banyana midfielder, Amanda Dlamini made her mark as one of the top three Style stars.
Lauren really has the work cut out for her simultaneously juggling club duties with JVW FC, schools league duties with the JVW Girls Schools league and National team duties managed both the U17 and U20 Women’s national teams ahead of the 2016 World Cup qualifiers and Senior Women’s National Team ahead of the AWCON.
Passion, drive and determination are some of the simple ingredients needed to continue to uplift and be the change of the women’s football game. It takes long hours, patience and pure love for the game to improve women’s football and that’s exactly what our Project Manager’s aim and goal is.
Banyana and JVW FC Midfielder, Jockey Ambassador and Supersport Analyst are some of the credentials she has behind her name, being one of the top five highest capped female footballers in SA and now receiving a nomination as a Style Star finalist.
Amanda continuously shows that anything can be done on and off the field if you follow your passion. Amanda continues to be a role model to many young girls and shows character through her accomplishments, and now in this regard, through her style. Both ladies deserve your vote, which is open until the 7th August. This will acts as a fifth judge in the process. The public vote is combined with the votes of the four-member gsport judging panel, to decide the overall winners. You can cast your vote at gsport.co.za/voting Winners will be announced on the 26 August 2017 at the Gsport Awards in Johannesburg.
