Blue Diamonds Restructure Ahead of New Season

The JVW FC Blue Diamonds first team has been officially restructured for the 2026 season, ensuring continuity, stability, and sustained competitive ambition for the club.

Reflecting on the 2025 Historic Campaign

The 2025 season was the most successful campaign in club history, with the Blue Diamonds finishing second in the Hollywoodbets Super League, a record achievement. The team’s success was built on discipline, commitment, and a strong club culture, which will be essential as the 2026 season begins.

Leadership Transition: Van Wyk’s Move Abroad

Legendary captain-turned-coach Janine van Wyk has relocated to Sweden to pursue a professional coaching career with Kristianstads DFF, bringing international recognition to her expertise. Her leadership and strategic guidance were crucial during the 2025 season, leaving a lasting legacy at JVW FC.

Head Coaches helm for the Blue Diamonds

To maintain continuity, Alexia Cassar and Bafana Nhlapo will lead the first team. Both coaches served as Janine van Wyk’s trusted assistants during the 2025 season and helped the team achieve a historic second-place finish. Throughout the 2026 season, the coaching duo will emphasize discipline, commitment, whilst sustaining the club culture.

Jabulile Mazibuko Joins Coaching Staff

Former Blue Diamonds player Jabulile Mazibuko spent the beginning of last year sidelined due to injury, but after recovering, she returned to help the team secure a Hollywoodbets Super League silver medal. She has now taken on the role of Assistant Coach.

She will use her knowledge of the team’s philosophy and playing experience to support the leadership duo while mentoring emerging talent during pre-season and throughout the 2026 campaign.

A Fond Yet Sad Farewell to the Departing Blue Diamonds

The club acknowledges and celebrates the contributions of departing players following the 2025 season. Talia Swartbooi and Nokwazi Mnomiya have chosen to pursue off-field opportunities.
Swartbooi will remain in the JVW structure, managing the JVW Diamond League programs, while the team is preparing Mnomiya for an administrative role.

Jessica Wade has been signed on a two-year deal with Åland United, while Micaela Nunes and Tanna Hollis are preparing to relocate abroad for new opportunities.
All three players spent their formative and most crucial development years with the Blue Diamonds, leaving a significant legacy behind, and highlighting the “Her story lives here” pathway.

Development Pathway and 2026 Squad Preparation

As pre-season commences, the coaching staff will integrate development players into first-team training sessions to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2026 season.
The team will maintain the same discipline, commitment, and club culture that drove success in 2025, finalizing the squad shortly before the league begins.

Looking Ahead

With this first-team restructure, JVW FC Blue Diamonds reaffirm the club’s commitment to competitive excellence, player development, and creating a winning environment as the Hollywoodbets Super League 2026 season approaches.
