JVW FC juniors to attend National Selection Camp

Hard work certainly does pay off when you finally get selected to attend a National Camp. The call came by surprise to four Junior team players, who have been identified to attend an U17 National Selection camp as the South African Coaches gear up for World Cup Qualifiers later on in the year.

Captain Jessica Wade together with Tatiana Christedis, Cayla Goncalves and Micaela Nunes will be preparing to head to the camp early next week in a quest to make their mark and secure a spot in the team. The Junior team has been playing in the ELFA boys league which started in April, just two weeks after their stint in the Senior Ladies league, where the team finished in 5th position.

Holding their own in the boys league thus far, our young stars continue to strive for greatness, and their Coach; First Team defender Angelique Martins Ferreira, couldn’t be prouder! “I’m excited for the girls that have been selected to attend u17 national trials.

They deserve to go and showcase their abilities after all the hard work they continuously put in. I wish them the best and hope they learn as much as they can from this experience.”
