After weeks of girl’s football action, the JVW Girls High School League has finally reached the final stage of the competition.
Currently in its 5th year, the JVW Girls Football Development Program gives girls the opportunity to play football in a competitive league environment, whilst unearthing and exposing aspiring young girls who have the talent to make it to the next level.
It has been an exciting year of women’s football action, with 109 School teams participating in the League this year. Sixteen Open Teams and twelve U15 Teams have made it through to the Playoff Finals, which will be held over two days. 28 Teams will join us over the weekend with the hopes of securing a top place overall.
Defending Open Girls Champions, Reddam House Bedfordview, have safely qualified for the Playoffs and will be looking to hold onto their trophy again this year.
Although the Playoff Finals determine the Overall winners of the League, Rand Girls School have already claimed their Gold Medal after topping the U17 Log, having only lost one match throughout the Season, whilst Edenvale High School finished in second place to claim Silver and Parktown High School for Girls secured a Bronze Medal.
The playoff Finals will take place at Germiston City FC on the 24th and 25th of September, with the matches kicking off at 09:00am.
