Technical team boost for the Blue Diamonds

The JVW FC Blue Diamonds team is excited to announce the addition of Bafana Nhlapo as their new Goalkeeper Coach.

Coach Nhlapo brings with him a wealth of experience to the club, after retiring from football at Black Aces in 2016. He was also part of Royal Eagles as a caretaker coach in 2019.

Nhlapo joins the club as the Head Goalkeeper Coach and will work alongside Coach Mitch Stevens, newly appointed Assistant Coach Janine van Wyk and Unathi Mabena, and prepare for a successful campaign in the Hollywoodbets Super League

His primary focus is the First team, but has also been tasked to improve the goalkeeping department within the club, and will nurture the development of the younger goalkeepers.

The Blue Diamonds gear up for the start of league

A third place finish in 2023, and so far their best finishing position in the Hollywoodbets league, JVW have their sights set on another top of the table finish this year.

With only 2 weeks to the start of the new season, the Blue Diamonds have had to step up a notch and fine tune certain areas. Packed in pre-season preparations was a training match against the U17 WNT, a two day camp to Magaliesburg, followed by a match against U17 boys. New faces have been added to the Diamond family, and the preparation has given the technical team time to focus on new combinations, and tactics for the upcoming league.

The team will continue with their preparations over the next few days, but will be without Kaylin Swart and Gabriela Salgado who are away with the Senior National Team. Upon their return, the Blue Diamonds will set their sights on their 2024 Campaign. The league starts for JVW with a fixture against TS Galaxy Queens at UJ Soweto Campus on the 2nd March.
