Van Wyk, who had been plying her trade in Scotland for Glasgow City, has returned to her roots and is set to make her debut in the `Hollywoodbets Super League for her club JVW FC this week.
The Banyana Banyana Captain, who also holds the record for the most appearances made by any South `African player at International level, will bring her expertise and experience to the newly formed SAFA National Women’s League.
Van Wyk returns to her club, where she is not only a player but also a co-owner and founder of the club and development program. Her last appearance in a South African league was in 2016, when JVW FC won the Gauteng SASOL League, where she featured as a player-coach. Her role for the remainder of the season will be slightly different to that of what she left, where she will be coming in as a player under Head Coach Ciara Picco, but will also be able to guide her fellow teammates on the field.
JVW FC will host two home matches this week, and will be in action against Cape Town based UWC FC tonight at 18:00 and Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday at 15:00.
