With one match left to be played in the Ladies ELFA League, the Vets sit comfortably on top of the table, 5 points ahead of Luso A.
Participating in a 1 legged stream and playing a total of 16 matches throughout the season, the Vets team have proven that experience can play a major role in any team. Conceding only 2 points in the 15 matches played, the team have put up a fight every step of the way, and have remained undefeated in the 2016/17 Season.
The ELFA League is an Amateur District League for Ladies which runs from October to March.
Through much resilience especially after finishing in the bottom half of the table in the previous season, the JVW (Vets) team have shown that progression is a result of hard work, dedication, a full team effort and most of all balancing the enjoyment of the game with the desire to win.
The Vets are looking to secure the Double win this season, having qualified for the ELFA Cup Semi Final, and should they go on to win Gold in this Competition, they will be the second team in the club’s history to get their hands on both Trophies.
With a Cup Quarter Final match still to be played between the JVW Seniors and Juniors, both teams have also maintained a good run this season, currently sitting tie on points in the top half of the table. The Quarter Final Match will be played on Tuesday 21 March in what we guarantee to be a tough contested match, especially after the Seniors succumbed to a 3-2 loss to the Juniors last week.
Final League Matches to be played this week:
Friday 17 March : Vets vs Sporting @ Home 19:30
Friday 17 March : Juniors vs Olympia @Olympia 19:30
