FINAL SELECTION FOR JVW PLAYERS

After months of no activity for women’s football in the country due to COVID, football has finally returned with the COSAFA Women’s Champs, and U17 Cosafa Champs which are being held simutaneously in Port Elizabeth. The Championship which is a yearly event will run from the 3rd – 14th November.

Banyana Banyana will be looking to defend their title once again on home soil. Head Coach Desiree Ellis has made her final 20-player selection and has included three JVW players, Mamello Makhabane, Robyn Moodaly and Gabriela Salgado.

Makhabane featured in the 2019 COSAFA Cup scooping the gold medal whilst Salgado won a gold medal in the 2018 COSAFA Cup.

In the U17 Championship four of the six JVW players initially called up, made final selection. Jessica Wade, Cimone Sauls, Aliyaah Allie and Jade Leask will feature at the tournament, all of whom were part of the U17 World Cup Qualifiers earlier this year.

Congratulations to all our players, and wishing the best of luck to both teams during the tournament.
